At Paarl Girls' High School we are extremely fortunate to have the best trained and motivated teachers who make it their priority to be the best educationalists that they can be. Proof of this lies in the excellent record shown throughout our senior certificate examination results.
'n Bydraende faktor is dat ons leerders reeds in gr.8 geleer word om met selfdissipline en verantwoordelikheid hul skoolwerk te bemeester. Dit is ook wetenskaplik bewys dat leerders aan eengeslagskole akademies beter presteer as in gemengde skole.
Na afloop van die Senior Sertifikaat eksamen van 2007, val die eer ons te beurt om vir die tweede agtereenvolgende jaar gelys te word onder die 10 Top-skole van die Weskaap - hierdie prestasie is behaal vir onder andere die volgehoue puik akademiese prestasies van die laaste 3 jaar.
Uiteindelik kom die eer van alle suksesse wat ons op akademiese gebied behaal ons Hemelse Vader toe wat aan ons opvoeders en leerders die nodige talente gegee het om tot hierdie hoogtes te styg.
Language Enrichment
Our school has created a very unique and necessary support for our girls, namely Language enrichment. Teachers identify learners who might need a little bit of a boost in a certain area of their language and then they are referred to a remedial teacher.
The computer centre
GHS has 2 fully equipped computer rooms with 2 full-time teachers and 1 part time teacher. Computer literacy classis already start in Grade R. All Primary School learners attend computer literacy classes once a week and twice weekly for grade 6 and 7 learners. Computer literacy is integrated with the curriculum and learners get projects in the different learning areas that gets completed in the computer centre.
Wiskunde Olimpiade
Ons neem jaarliks deel aan 2 olimpiades nl. die AMESA Wiskunde Olimpiade en Living Maths. Alle leerders neem aan die eerste rondtes deel en sommige leerders aan die finale rondtes.
Language of tuition:
Afrikaans and English speaking learners are accommodated in one class. Bilingualism is of such a high priority that there are trophies for the most fluent learner with excellent communication skills in the foundation- as well as the intermediate phase.
